This little tune speaks to what's on loan to us versus what is given when we make our maker front and center.
Many of us have had one (or two) on the 7th day, but this one's about how to raise up our lives in thanks and praise to Christ, who died, was buried and rose to bring us all to salvation. Amen!
Wrote this one about our trips to Lake Weiss in Alabama with great friends, wave runners, gettin' lost, of course the dog, raising our kids out of the storm my wife and I grew up around and drove past these last 33+ years.
Inside Out is all about introspection. Growing up with a big mess of experiences which like many others I "buried down deep inside"...and now in my late 50's have had a chance to explore, and work through my stuff and it's all coming out in song and gratitude for my Lord carrying me through.
There in fact was a Sunday which was my "some day" when I finally gave my life to Christ and walked away from the wrong path and traps that many of us have fallen into. It's my recommendation that if you haven't already... that you find yours this minute, man.
I had a neighbor up in Downingtown, PA who lost a son in a fall. Only met the young man once, but immediately recognized in him a shining light of an example of parents who raised him up right, and how my boys might rise. So I wrote this tune about the climb, finding the knots (or working them out) and how important it is that we remain looking up to our Savior for the strength in times of strife, life and remain open for Him to pull us up and over whatever it is we are facing.
In Me are Mine sings of how we have been brought into the spirit, woven into the His words when we believe He's died for us, was raised for us and saved us all. We are then His, in Him and through Him can do His work while we're here. I left a "round" for my daughter who is so faithful and a joy to hear sing like a bird for me and in Worship. Makes me happy cuz I can hear her in the 2nd verse talk back to me and underscore the message of this little bit.
It's amazing how many stories can be told of rough starts and stops, walks and falls and what's to be learned from it all. This is how we started and some of our fears and for sure our trust in God to watch over my kids and especially my 2 sons in the Army and Police force. Maybe your MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle's gonna help on your mission of a warrior deployed for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) but no matter what event may come... we're all gonna be okay when our faith is placed in our Lord.
